Women in Politics

Throughout history, women have slowly been gaining rights for themselves in all aspects of their lifestyles. The original form of families, careers, education, nuclear family, and politics have created a large disadvantage towards women. This section will focus on the upcoming of women representation in politics and how these original forms have impacted voter choice towards women. Women have been fighting for positions in the political world for many years but a disadvantage has been established around gender stereotypes. There have been little steps along the way, and to date it is noticeable how far the US has come. In 2020, Joe Biden was elected as president of the United States and directly beside him was Kamala Harris, the very first woman elected vice president. Beginning with no right to vote, change has been happening for women, and the goal here is to create an understanding of how voter choice has been impacted by gender stereotypes, but has improved remarkably.
